I was blessed to have tickets to todays swearing-in ceremony.
Unfortunately, I could not decide between my 9 year old twins and my 6 year old which of the girls to take to the inauguration festivities. I chose not to make a choice at all. I reminded myself, ‘we are blessed to be a blessing’. I posted the tickets as a gift to whomever was willing to drive to my home and retrieve the tickets. A friend from high school, respected my husband, and sent his female friend to get the tickets due to the time. Although he did not say this he did wait until after the football game to drive over and it was late. I’d like to think the Lord was keeping peace in my home with his gesture.
I plan to spend today enjoying my girls and my husband.
Today was my 6 year olds turn to make pancakes.
How are you planning to spend today’s historical events? Are you watching the inauguration via television? Are you attending the festivities? Are you watching the festivities with your children? Friends? Extended family? Are you disinterested in the meaning, hope and visual dream today represents? Dr. Martin Luther King? Medgar Evers? Civil Rights? Black History? Bipartisan unity?
